Quality courses, recognized training
L'Étoile is an Établissement Libre d'Enseignement Supérieur, registered with the Rectorat de Paris (Ministry of Education) under number 384/07-16.
L'Etoile's initial training in French for foreigners (French language and civilization) has been recognized as a higher education qualification since 2000.
Our educational commitments
- Native French-speaking teachers with at least a Master's degree in French as a Foreign Language (FLE)
- Courses aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
- Courses that reflect today 's French and France
- A strong commitment to quality: our French language courses have been awarded the Label Qualité FLE (Français Langue Étrangère) by the French government (Ministries of Culture, Higher Education and Foreign Affairs) since 2010.
A commitment to going the extra mile: our Le Diplômant program has been ECTS accredited since 2023.
Our methodology
We use a communicative teaching method based on active learner participation:
A placement test enables the educational manager toanalyze each student's needs and place them in the class best suited to their level.
All our teachers create their own customized course materials, so as to offer training tailored to the precise needs of their students.
In addition to materials developed by our teachers, our courses are based on authentic documents (newspapers, magazines, songs, recorded conversations, films, documentaries) and extracts from recent FLE textbooks.
Every day, students have an independent homework assignment which is an integral part of the learning process. Corrected individually and handed in by the teacher the following day, the assignment develops students' writing skills. This continuous assessment is supplemented by a monthly exam covering the previous month's learning.
Particular attention is paid to balancing learning with the acquisition of oral and written skills (comprehension and expression), enabling them to take French university entrance tests and other official exams (TEF, TCF, DELF, DALF).
French culture and civilization are not forgotten and are integrated into our courses. Sightseeing and cultural visits are a regular feature of our courses and are included in the tuition fees.
