4. Plugins and tools
Google fonts
We use Google Fonts on our website. These are "Google Fonts" from Google Inc. For the European area, Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street Dublin 4, Ireland) is responsible for all Google services.
You do not need to log in or enter a password to use Google Fonts. In addition, no cookies are stored in your browser. Files (CSS, fonts / fonts) are requested via the Google domains fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. According to Google, CSS and font requests are completely separate from all other Google services. If you have a Google account, you don't need to worry about your Google account details being passed on to Google while you're using Google Fonts. Google records the use of CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) and fonts and stores this data securely.
What data is stored by Google?
When you visit our website, fonts are downloaded from a Google server. This external call transfers the data to the Google server. In this way, Google also recognizes that you or your IP address are visiting our website. The Google Fonts API has been developed to reduce the use, storage and collection of end-user data to what is necessary for the correct provision of fonts. By the way, API stands for "Application Programming Interface" and serves, among other things, as a data transmitter in the software industry.
Google Fonts securely stores CSS and font requests with Google and is therefore protected. With the usage figures collected, Google can determine the extent to which individual fonts are received. Google publishes the results on internal analysis sites such as Google Analytics.
Information such as language settings, IP address, browser version, browser screen resolution and browser name is automatically transmitted to the Google server whenever Google Font is requested.
It is not clearly communicated by Google whether this data is recorded or not, so we have chosen to use a tool (OMGF) to locally host the typos used on our site.
Google also uses data from its own crawler to determine which websites use Google Fonts. This data is published in the Google Fonts BigQuery database. Contractors and developers use the Google BigQuery web service to examine and move large quantities of data.
Google reCAPTCHA
We use "Google reCAPTCHA" (hereinafter "reCAPTCHA") on our websites. This service is provided by Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA ("Google").
reCAPTCHA is used to check whether data entered on our website (e.g. on a contact form) has been entered by a user or by an automated program. To do this, reCAPTCHA analyzes the site visitor's behavior according to various characteristics. This analysis starts automatically as soon as the website visitor enters the site. For the analysis, reCAPTCHA evaluates various pieces of information (for example, the IP address, the length of time the visitor has been on the website or the mouse movements made by the user). The data collected during the analysis will be transmitted to Google.
The reCAPTCHA analyses take place completely in the background. Visitors to the site are not informed that such analysis is in progress.
Data processing is based on legitimate interest. The website operator has a legitimate interest in protecting its site from abusive automated crawling and spam.
